Describe one way you compare and contrast in a book you’re reading at home.

When you compare, you tell how two things are alike.
When you contrast, you tell how two things are different.

I am reading The Last Olympian, and I compare this book to the Harry Potter series because the characters have special powers. I can contrast it to the Harry Potter series because the kids in one book they are the sons and daughters of wizards and in the other book they are the sons and daughters of Greek gods.

I am reading The Last Olympian, and I compare this book to the Harry Potter series because at one point in the history of the world people actually believed in gods and in witches and wizards. These two books contrast because there are a lot of websites and books about Greek mythology but there is not much about witches/wizardry. Another difference is that people view Greek mythology as good stories but witchcraft is viewed as something evil by many people.

One way the chapters are different is that one chapter they didn't like cats, and the other chapter they treated the cat like it was their god.One way they are alike is because in each chapter they travel in time.

In Harry Potter The Deathly Hallows and the Lightning Theif two ways they were alike Percy Jackson has powers like Harry Potter and Percy has a good supporting friend just like Harry does. The two different ways are that Percy is a god and Harry is a wizard and that Percy only had one supporting friend and Harry had two.
